Ingredients
  

Fruit Filling
  • 1 cup sliced strawberries Make sure they are ripe.
  • 2 cups sliced peaches Fresh or frozen, thawed and drained.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Adds brightness to the fruit.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Streusel Topping
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour.
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/3 cup cold unsalted butter Cut into small pieces.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9-inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the sliced strawberries and peaches with lemon juice, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. Toss until coated.
  3. Transfer the fruit mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
Streusel Topping
  1. In another bowl, whisk together flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, salt, and nutmeg.
  2. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Sprinkle the crumbly topping evenly over the fruit layer.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 30–35 minutes until the topping is golden brown and fruit bubbles.
  2. Allow to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Best served warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Can add a drizzle of honey or nuts for extra flavor.
