Ingredients
  

For the cookie dough
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened Make sure it's at room temperature.
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened Make sure it’s at room temperature.
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped Chop into small pieces for even distribution.
For the frosting
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk Adjust for desired frosting consistency.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until you achieve a smooth and creamy texture.
  3. Blend in the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually integrate this dry mixture into the creamy blend, stirring gently until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chopped strawberries.
Baking
  1. Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop dollops of dough onto your prepared baking sheets.
  2. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges turn a lovely light golden brown.
Frosting
  1. While those cookies cool, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until you have a smooth frosting.
  2. Once the cookies have cooled to room temperature, frost them with the glaze.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute half the butter with applesauce. To elevate flavor, add citrus zest to the frosting.
