Ingredients

For the chicken
  • 1 pound chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup barbecue sauce Feel free to swap for favorite flavor
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Use gluten-free for a gluten-free option
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped For garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, barbecue sauce, soy sauce, minced garlic, and smoked paprika until you achieve a smooth consistency.
  2. Season the chicken pieces generously with salt and black pepper.
Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 5 minutes.
  2. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken, reducing the heat to medium-low. Allow it to simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and becomes sticky, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. For an extra depth of flavor, continue cooking for an additional 2 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
Serving
  1. Once done, remove from heat, sprinkle with chopped parsley, and transfer to a serving platter.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 to 4 days. For longer storage, freeze them in a single layer in a freezer bag.
