Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 chicken sausages, sliced Italian-style recommended for extra zing
  • 2 cups broccoli florets Fresh or frozen work perfectly
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese Use high-quality cheese for best flavor
  • 2 cups chicken broth Homemade preferred, but store-bought is fine
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • tbsp Olive oil For cooking

Method

Cooking
  1. In a large pan, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced chicken sausage to the pan. Cook until it’s beautifully browned.
  3. Toss in the minced garlic and stir for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant.
  4. Add the orzo and pour in the chicken broth. Bring this mixture to a gentle simmer.
  5. Cook the orzo for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender and most of the broth is absorbed.
  6. In the last few minutes of cooking, stir in the broccoli florets.
  7. Stir in the grated parmesan cheese and season generously with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy every creamy bite!

Notes

For variations, consider substituting chicken sausage with turkey sausage or adding sun-dried tomatoes. Also great paired with a crisp salad or garlic bread.
