Jam Preparation
- In a large pot, combine the chopped rhubarb, apples, sugar, water, and lemon juice.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring frequently to prevent sticking.
- Once at a boil, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 20 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Watch for the mixture to thicken to your liking, then remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
- Pour the jam into sterilized jars, seal them, and store.
Notes
Store in the refrigerator for up to three weeks or can using a hot water bath method for longer storage, extending up to a year. Always check seals and store in a cool, dry place.
