Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup whole milk Warm to activate yeast
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 1 large egg
Filling
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped Substitute with frozen if necessary
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
Frosting
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. In a saucepan, warm the milk and butter over low heat until the butter is melted.
  3. Pour the warm mixture into the dry ingredients, add the egg, and stir until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Baking
  1. Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
  2. Sprinkle the brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped strawberries over the rolled dough.
  3. Roll up tightly into a log and slice into pinwheels.
  4. Place the sliced rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Frosting
  1. Whip together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth.
  2. Drizzle the cream cheese frosting over warm cinnamon rolls before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. For longer storage, freeze tightly wrapped rolls for up to 3 months. Reheat before serving.
