Preparation
- In a bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- In a saucepan, warm the milk and butter over low heat until the butter is melted.
- Pour the warm mixture into the dry ingredients, add the egg, and stir until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Baking
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped strawberries over the rolled dough.
- Roll up tightly into a log and slice into pinwheels.
- Place the sliced rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Frosting
- Whip together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth.
- Drizzle the cream cheese frosting over warm cinnamon rolls before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. For longer storage, freeze tightly wrapped rolls for up to 3 months. Reheat before serving.
