  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup provolone or Cheese Whiz Choice of cheese
  • 4 pieces hoagie rolls
  • to taste salt and pepper

Method
 

Preparation and Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and sauté until soft and beautifully caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Crumble the ground beef into the skillet, breaking it apart and cooking until browned. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  4. Layer the cheese over the beef and let it melt until you’re left with a delightful, gooey mixture.
  5. Spoon the beef and cheese into toasted hoagie rolls while they’re still warm.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy that first delicious bite!

Notes

Plate with fresh parsley and pair with crispy fries or a side salad. For extra flavor, add spicy pickles or jalapeños.
