Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package directions, then drain them.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cottage cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of your baking dish.
Layering and Baking
- Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce. Next, add half of the cottage cheese mixture, followed by a generous layer of marinara sauce and some mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat the layers again: noodles, cottage cheese mixture, marinara, and mozzarella.
- Top it off with the last three noodles, then pour the remaining marinara sauce over everything, finishing with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and just starting to brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. If you like, garnish with fresh basil for a pop of color!
Notes
Serve with a light green salad and garlic bread for the perfect meal. Store leftovers tightly covered in the fridge for 3-5 days or freeze for longer storage.
