  • 2 cups chocolate chips Can substitute with dark chocolate or a mix of chocolate types.

  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until thoroughly combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the creamed butter mixture until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips gently.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each for spreading.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 9 to 11 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges.
  2. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For freezing, scoop the dough onto a baking sheet, freeze until solid, and transfer to a freezer bag. Bake directly from the freezer, adding a couple of minutes to the baking time.
