  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz) Or use cream of chicken.
  • 1/2 cup milk or beef broth For a creamier texture.
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided Add more for a cheesier casserole.
  • 1 tsp paprika Adds a hint of smokiness.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Season according to preference.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef along with the diced onion for about 5-7 minutes; drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup, milk or beef broth, paprika, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  5. In your greased baking dish, combine the cooked rice, beef mixture, half of the shredded cheese, and the sauce until well mixed.
  6. Top with the remaining cheese, cover with aluminum foil, and bake for 20 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and continue baking for another 10 minutes until bubbly and golden. For a crispy topping, broil it for an additional 2 minutes.

Notes

Serve with a side of steamed vegetables or a fresh green salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
