Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups milk (or any plant-based milk) Unsweetened almond milk is a good lighter option.
  • 1 ripe banana mashed Use a ripe banana for the best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup Optional for added sweetness.
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Chopped nuts or chocolate chips for topping Optional.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, milk, mashed banana, chia seeds, cinnamon, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Stir well to combine all the ingredients thoroughly.
  2. Once mixed, divide the oatmeal mixture into jars or containers, sealing them tight.
  3. Refrigerate these jars overnight, allowing the flavors to meld and the oats to soften beautifully.
Serving
  1. When morning breaks and it’s time to enjoy, give the oats a good stir. Top with your choice of nuts or chocolate chips for a delightful crunch.

Notes

These oats can be kept in the refrigerator for up to five days; however, freezing is not recommended. Use clean utensils to keep things safe and fresh.
